(97 PA - Present Day)
Formerly the Prophet of chaos, Merry served under the god Solomon for just under 700 years. After his imprisonment, Merry spent a time trying to hold the cult together in Solomon's absence. She would eventually go into hiding after a series of events resulting in the kidnapping of her twin children to serve as the chained gods keeper.
For the next 500 years, Merry laid relatively low posing under the guise of a harmless shop keeper. Though from time to time she would still appear at the old chaos cult grounds to aid new vessels as they appeared in hopes that one of them might finally be the one to finally free her god and return her children to her.
These days Merry can be found serving as witness to the former vessel and now last remaining god, Ratil the god of the apocalypse. Though she often keeps herself busy working and doing whatever she can to support the cult during the day, she can occasionally be seen talking to either of her spouses and in the evening can sometimes even be spotted taking a stroll with her good friend Chos or perhaps even speaking to one of the several merchants known to frequent the cult grounds.
Merry is known to be an outwardly very happy go lucky cat though this is a mask she very skillfully wears for the public. Behind the facade Merry struggles greatly with her own fears, traumas, and insecurities.

Got messed up on the womb and their father birthed an egg that got stolen, it eventually hatched and slipped away since they were born tiny af and fully able to wander around.
They survived on the woods as a wild animal, hiding from predators as well as escaping from traps made for pests until they were 7 years old, they got stuck on a trap and found by Solomon and given to Nymph.
They took a while to truly get used to the environment and took the word of the faith to their very being.
By the time the rat genocide started they carried on with it, believing that by it they could keep things the same and nothing would change, digging a grave for each rat they killed or found dead.
But by the time everything started to fall apart despite the blood they had spilled hoping, WISHING, PRAYING to have prevented such outcome they grew desperate, and the sickness and itchiness were anything but helpful.

An ex Chaos devotee who defected to join String Cheese after his ascension to godhood, Shes "calm" and very protective of other members in her cult, but can easily become callous and spiteful if given the slightest reason.
When she isn't swamped with work within the cult, she'll visit the villages tucked away at the edges of Lepidop to perform blessings (and eat "dispose" of any heretics on the way). Rarely you can find her sewing or tending to her garden in the temple.
Sometimes, she wonders if those from her past life still remember her. (She hopes so)

Originally hailing from the harsh beauty that is the Amethyst Desert before finding purpose in Aegrotune, Cecil is an arrogant crossbreed of zebra shark and lanternfish (with a side of Arabian horned viper to distaste) with a knack for wreaking havoc and angering others.
Though Cecil has the cunning and horns of a snake, it has the drive and loyalty (though not much elegance) for luring others with his siren's call of ail.
Nowadays Cecil is hesitant to settle anywhere, years of devotion and loss feeling meaningless to the creature of the deep, they find joy and whimsy in even the smallest of activities (annoying people).

Jar can be very cold or aggressive (esp. to people he doesn't know or like). They like murder and cannibalism, he has some heavy abandonment issues and a terminal case of Loving his Wife(s).
He was abandoned in the woods by his family and was alone for several years before being adopted by a wandering heretic. After she died, they were alone again for a while before being found by Safari and indoctrinated into the War cult.
They find, kill, and eat the family that abandoned them as a child before ascending to Prophethood. As the Prophet of War he eventually meets and falls in love with Chaos' Prophet, Merry. They go on to see each other in secret for many years.
Jarún very gleefully participated in the rat genocide and was quite relieved when the last one was dealt with.

Once a kind humble though slightly unhinged Shepard who lived relatively normal with his wife using the corpses of non devouts as fertilizer.
He caught the attention of his God when an insult to his pastries made him hang open cadavers of the offenders around his property which got him his position as a Priest.
He was the father of Savner before they were stolen from him and his wife whilst they were still in the egg. He's still looking for his child- he doesn't know that Beelzebub himself is the thief in question.

A very tiny mushroomo, whose lower body (covered by clothing) is made up of a root system that can be used to eat pretty much any biological material, although they do love to eat corpses the most and can grow to as tall as the mushroom trees in Lepidop if fed enough - the black spots on their head are pustules filled with toxic chemicals that can also be used to help with digestion. A disciple of famine pre-Ratil, leans heavily into the religious themes and likes to tend to the alters and praying areas and doesn’t change much post Ratil other than a reset on her size.

As a Follower of War, Prayter lived a happy life in the Amethyst Desert alongside their partner and their child Totsy. The role they played within the cult was that of a gatherer, collecting important resources that their home needed to thrive. It was a dangerous job with the desert's intense heat and savage predators, and these purple sands are where tragedy struck for the happy family.
One day during a crusade, Prayter and their husband were ambushed by the domain's beasts. Blood is spilled and agony echoes in the air as Prayter loses their tail and the love of their life in the battle, all in a single afternoon. The cat barely managed to escape with their life, stumbling back home with a corpse in their arms to mourn over.

Weeks go by as they struggle to exist in this new reality, taking care of a kid they never expected to raise alone. All they had now was the distant sympathy of the cult and Totsy, their only tether to life itself. It took the fear of letting them all down even further to at least try and regain some sense of normalcy. So Prayter set out once again to gather, but each trip paled in comparison to the quests of the past to their dismay. All but one.
It was a summer night when they stumbled upon the otherworldly ruins, with its piles of bizarre trinkets and fleshy manaquins. Wonder got the best of them as they explored the contents of this oasis, soon finding a relic that peaked their interest. A black tail with a white eye on it, resting in a glass case. Prayter took it out of this container and, in a moment of curiosity, held it up to their tail stump. Instantly white hot pain shot through their entire being, all originating from the stump as the relic latched on, connecting itself to replace what was once lost.
After escaping the collector of these oddities with the tail now attached to them and returning home, life surprisingly started taking a turn for the better. Prayter's mood improved, they had more energy, they even seemed to have better awareness of their surroundings when it came to their job. Things were finally starting to feel okay again, all thanks to the newfound motivation that came with their new tail.
It was at that point when the God Safari had offered them the role of Priest, after seeing how much they've improved since the accident. With the God's honing, they'd be made an example of what every follower of War should strive to be, a warrior through loss and hardship. Prayter accepted the offer, and after passing through the standard trials they were officially declared a Priest of War. But with this new chapter an unexpected revelation was made.
As it turns out Prayter's new tail was far more than a simple boost in morale, having revealed itself to be sentient and capable of moving on its own in the Priest trials. It's the reason they had even passed the final trial in general and while Prayter was certainly caught off guard, they find themself more grateful than anything. It helped them get to this point, and with that aid a partnership blossomed. Two minds working as one to provide for the home they loved and the people that depended on them. For some time the two were the powerful duo that they aspired to be, until things started getting weird, until things started getting worse.
They find themself starting to develop a case of sleepwalk, occasionally coming to in a random spot around the cult, waking up in the morning covered in sand and nature, finding themself sitting at the foot of Totsy's bed in the middle of the night. The cases get more bizarre by the day, as does Prayter's cravings. What was once a balanced diet has shifted to focus primarily on meat and flesh over time. It doesn't bother them too much though, with Prayter reasoning that it must simply be a change that comes with the divinity being a Priest.
It all comes to a head when escorting a pilgrim they encountered while gathering to the War Cult. Prayter fell asleep and when they snap awake they find themself kneeling over the pilgrim's dead body, covered in blood with the corpse's heart in their stomach. The tail stares at them uncaring in their horror, and the truth of the matter comes to the cat.
The Tail was influencing them all along. The mood shifts, the cravings, the sleepwalking, all of it was a means to testing out their body as it grew stronger, as it's ability to control Prayter grew more consistent. It weaponized them and now they have to clean up the mess it made.
This begins a new chapter for the two where Prayter has to deal with the Tail's antics, waking up nearly every day with some new scenario the Tail put them in whilst they were unconscious. Sometimes it's murder, other times it's acting weirdly around followers that are up late into the night, but all of it is tiring to the cat. Close call after close call, the weight of innocent death heavy like stone, it builds up until they simply can't take it anymore.
Prayter tries to cut the tail off one evening and to their suprise their muscles lock involuntarily, stopping the blade mere inches away from the Tail's flesh. It can control them in some way even while awake, and it looks *mad*. Prayter drops the knife and the muscles relax, but the tension doesn't go away. They've both shown their true intentions and now Prayter knows their time is running out.
In a last act of defiance against their parasite Prayter takes Totsy and runs, making their way to the Chaos cult far off from the Amethyst Desert. They can only hope that Totsy can live a happier life away from their soon to be dangerous self, as they leave their child at the entrance of the God-less town. Prayter goes back home as their body starts to feel heavier and heavier, sitting down one last time as the Tail rips control away from them.
Decades go by with Prayter tucked away deep in the body's mind, with the Tail running the ship as it learns to fight and act like a person. Until one fateful day when Totsy returns to them much older than before, and with a crown-bearing child of his own. The two fight valiantly against the Tail, and with the help of a reinvigorated Prayter from within manage to finally cut the cursed relic from the cat's body.
Separated once more, Prayter is free to live in their own being, changed forever in mind and physicality but still the same soul from all those years prior. They live now in Ratil's cult working once again as a simple gatherer, trying to recover what's left of themself from their time with the Tail. They have a long road ahead of them, but they have their family to support them through and that's all they could ask for.

For the first 2 years of their life, they were raised by Nutmeg and Paul, however, due to their deaths, their uncle Keith took their place. The two of them were thieves and vagabonds, stealing to survive until Tyme was 16, when Keith disappeared in the night. Tyme wandered alone for a while, until they decided to join the Cult of Pestilence. They did not fit in, they tried to, but it was not happening, so after about 6 months in that cult, they left. They then tried the Cult of Chaos, where they did fit in for 3 years, until they said something damning and had to run so they wouldn't get killed. Then, they found Weatherglass.
Tyme and Weatherglass courted, getting married right at the 3-year mark, when, in a heist gone wrong, Weatherglass was killed on the altar. Tyme was devastated, living on autopilot until Jarun found them and took them to the Cult of War. They fit in really well and eventually became a Priest.
Many years later, in 14 PE, they found Basil while on a mission to get supplies, and took them as their own. Soon after, they fought Ratil and lost, being indoctrinated into their cult.

Born as the secret child of Beelzebub/Solomon, the God of Chaos, they were raised by Solomon for 10 years. Once Solomon was chained away with Wolper never truly knowing what came of him, they were adopted by Nymph. As the years wore on their mind blocked out that Solomon was their father- only remembering him as a strange uncle of their past.
Wolperlope has always had a sort of tormented energy. With all sorts of creepy-crawlies infesting their brain for a long time, they're wild and unstable, intensely hyperfocused on the idea of becoming a God and having a crown for their own uses. Nobody noticed, and so it festered. Perhaps this would have eventually led to violence directed toward their loved ones, if only they didn't die soon after Solomon's indoctrination ...
But they came back as a vengeful spirit, unable to move on, and terrorized Solomon until his attempted death. They were resurrected by Ratil- Ratil's first successful resurrection. Post-resurrection, Wolperlope is left very shy, forgetful, quiet, and socially awkward, preferring calm days spent inside than the wild violence they once enjoyed. Some of their old temperament remains, however, and they still experience mild fits of insanity from time to time.

In The Cult of War: Rowan is a disciple of War, a temple guard, who takes his job very seriously. He is orderly and exact with his duties. He tolerates very little funny business or the like. But he serves his God with the absolute loyalty befitting of someone of his station. Though, at his core, under all the armor and formal way of speaking, is a kind soul that looks out for others. He uses his training to protect those around him.
He is decently strong, enough to have earned a blessed trinket from the God of War themself. A necklace of crystals carved in the shape of The War Crown's eye. And these let him use different elements (ice, fire, poison etc) when he swings his sword. He could already channel energy into the blade on his own, but the crystals give more variety.
In Ratil's Cult: Once The Bishop of War is defeated once, Rowan flees to the wilderness, vowing revenge for his disgraced God. Bathed in guilt for his failure, and rage at the injustice, he seaks out Ratil. But he never gets that far. The wilderness is unkind and he ends up nearly drowning as a result of a monster attack.
He washes up on the bank of a river near the cult with a broken horn and amnesia to match. His personality turned completely inside out. The kind and soft side of the ram now on full display. He gets along well with everyone and seems to not have a single thought of anger. Deeply loyal to Ratil now for saving his life. But the violent side to him still bubbles under the surface. Though he is now directionless and little more than an average strong farm hand, the muscle memory does not fade. And he is as dangerous as ever to any Spy that dares wander in and disturb the peace crafted by his new master.
