The Birth of Insanity

A story summary

Long ago, in the time of the God of Apocalypse, there were five. One of those five was a goat named Solomon. In his early life he was raised by his mother and father with his older sister in a small heretical village hidden deep within the forests of what would later become known as Sol Valley.

At age 16 (196 KR), Kali's Apocalypse Cleansers found his village. The houses were set ablaze, many of the people either dying in the flames or being killed as they fleed.

Solomon had managed to escape his house- and was subsequently left for dead by his sister in the woods, covered in horrific burns. 4 years later (200 KR) he was captured by Cleansers and was set for execution in an extermination roundup- however he was let free by one of the Cleansers.

Another 4 years later (204 KR), the five mortals, crusaders, would come together. The youngest of the 5 was Solomon. Reserved and melancholy, he was something of a younger sibling to the others. The 5 journeyed to the Apocalypse Temple, the hub and home of Kali herself, in a mission to end her tyrannical reign.

Unfortunately, during the crusade (205 KR), Solomon fell ill, having accidentally consumed contaminated food. He seemingly recovered- seemingly. However deep inside, burrowed in his mind, was a parasite. A parasite that would slowly drive him insane.

The group defeated the tyrannical ruler- Solomon being declared the God of Order and Chaos. Balance.
.

He had only grown worse since his ascension- bugs beginning to infest the hole that had rotted away in his head, the rot spreading further and further and the bugs multiplying more and more.

It only took half a decade for his behavior to grow strange. And stranger. And stranger. He accrewed followers as he accrewed power- his influence spread and buried into every facet of existence. One irrevocable facts of life were now simply suggestions, and his siblings watched as the sacred geometry and DNA strands of existence itself unraveled at his touch.

His influence and power encroached further and further on life, the undefined and obscure nature of his domain mutating into something horrid.
.

In an act of what some may say necessary and others would say cruelty, Scalene, God of Famine, spearheaded the plan to take care of the situation once and for all. She planned to quell Insanity- to make sure he could never breathe his mania upon the world.

One evening, 800 years after their initial ascension (800 PA), the 5 siblings met up. A confrontation ensued, and a fight of a magnitude not yet seen before broke out.

She was mistaken in thinking the 4 of them could kill one of him. Scalene was killed in the fight by Solomon, the remaining 3 Gods chaining him and sealing him away for the foreseeable eternity.

Chained for the rest of forever in a pocket dimension between the overworld and the afterlife, he waits. He bides his time. You can only keep madness chained for so long...

Forever could never be promised, and with every passing moment, the date of 500 years grew closer.
