Backstory:
Upon returning home to find their home in ash and ruin, Safari left in search of the one responsible. Along his search, he found others with the same goal, and the 5 of them continued their hunt.
As the God of Apocalypse fell to their crusade, Safari inherited the powers granted by a fraction of the original crown's power - taking control over the domain of War.
With the power others could only dream of at her fingertips, Safari split off, venturing deep into the forest, passing through villages and plains, moving quickly to keep from the eyes of the many who inhabited those areas. Soon, they came to a clearing - an area almost devoid of life, with only a few stray villages dotting the edge of the forest.
But the desert that lay past the border, with its golden sands and blistering heat, remained untouched as sandstorms rippled across the surface, making traversing the arid stretch of land a challenge for most.
But where others saw only peril and pain, Safari saw solidtude and opportunity.
He strode through the sand, letting the well of power flow from his steps, seeping into the soil. The desert was arduous and unforgiving, but the magic flowing into the sand culled any animosity, twisting the land into a place they could call home - the sands faded from golden to purple, and while the storms that once plagued the air were still prevalent, it seemed the very air now answered to Safari, the sand only picking up to fend off those who tried to cross from the confines of the forest.
As their influence spread across the continent, and the word of their cult gained traction, the ones who wished to partake in the ways of War quickly gathered, taking up refuge under the guidance of their new God.

The Amethyst Desert, a place known across the lands for its unique purple sands, and for its strange inhabitants who seem obsessed with battle. It has gained the nickname of ‘The Twilight Grave’ due to its blisteringly cold nights giving many of the weary travellers who step foot on the sands chills deep into their bones. Powerful sandstorms keep outsiders away whilst allowing the domain's inhabitants to traverse freely.
In the centre of the domain, surrounded by the various living spaces of the cultists, is an oasis shaded by trees and covered in various flora. The deep, crystal clear waters are home to various species of seaweed and coral. In the centre of the oasis is the cult’s temple, with large stones acting as stepping stones into the entrance. The temple takes on a more inky colour scheme, standing out against the sandstone and yellow balau wood of the other structures.
War's Temple:
Within the temple, blood-stained stone brick walls surrounded the central pit, signifying the temple’s main use for the most important of fights and rituals. A large seating area spans each side, broken into two sections by the entryway and the steps that lead up on one side towards the altar which stand majestically against the glittering panes of a stained glass window behind it, a delicately crafted depiction of the Bishop themself.
A large selection of weapons line the dedicated places on the walls, sorted by both type and amount of use. The cleanest, most pristine weapons sit closer to the stairs, for use by only those highly regarded by the God.
Books and tomes line the walls behind the gallery, each shelf spaced evenly with ceremonial tapestries hung between, each depicting an event past in chronological order, each one handcrafted with the utmost care.
The books displayed are just a select few copies, as beneath the temple lies a vast library, filled with a copy of almost every book on existence, whether gifted or hand sourced (see, stolen). Some are tomes as old as time, pages worn from careful use and aged decay, while others seem newly written, pages clean from the creases and smudges that the touch of a reader can bring.
Fight Pit:
Off to one side of the temple is the dedicated fighting arena, dubbed the fight pit. A large plot of sandstone lines the ground, with smaller, fenced arenas for sparring and fights. A cover sits above the arena to provide shade from the heat. Rows of seating and standing areas surround each pit, with racks of various weapons sitting nearby, including axes, daggers, shortswords, spears and shields, with one rack containing armour. Bows, crossbows and other ranged weapons may be available upon request.
There are a few rules surrounding the pits, which are reiterated before each match due to an incident. These rules are:
Respect your opponent - don’t play dirty, don’t underestimate them.
If your opponent taps out or loses their weapon, the fight is over unless they wish to continue.
No killing or permanently wounding your opponent.
Breaking these rules will result in punishment. Breaking the first two can result in a temporary ban from the arena as well as disciplinary action taken. Breaking the last rule will result in a permanent ban, and if their opponent was killed, can even result in sacrifice.
In the centre is a larger pit, with a more refined and almost regal feel to it. While the pits are cleaned after every match, this one seems stained with the most blood. Sitting nearby this pit is a rack of larger weapons, including great axes, scythes, hammers and large swords. This pit is known as the killing pit. It is used for serious fights with the God and those who wish to question their rule. It is never to be used by cultists unless a viable reason has been given and explicit permission has been granted. Fights in this pit are usually a whole cult affair, and it can even draw crowds from the forest surrounding if word of it spreads. Fights against the God are rare, and are always enjoyed by all, as getting to experience the skill of their leader firsthand is a spectacle to be enjoyed.
