Minds

Morality. It's an interesting idea to me. What is right and wrong, not just to an individual but also to a society and community. To some it is morally unjustified to banish someone who may be a tyrant in due time. To others it is justifiable to kill off children for the sake of a kingdom. But it's never stagnant, a constant stream of ideals and reasonings. It's mesmerizing to see it through history. To see who considers glory to be wrong and right, to see who determines whether sacrifice is necessary or simply barbaric.
To see if a man is worthy of divinity or a mortal indefinitely.
I’d slither in the homes of my people, the streets of the grand city of Uuth, seeing how they perceived my father’s rule, how they enjoyed the nights of celebrations and despised the tolls of labor. The majority adored my father as a ruler, claiming him as a god of a man. Few considered him to simply be average. Only one considered his rule to be unsatisfactory, that his morals were in the wrong focus. That man is me. I am an outcast in moral statistics. I never gained his empathy for others, his desire to help his people. Our society was built on the idea that you must eat or be eaten, and now he believes that this manner was barbaric? He is correct, but not in the ways he thought. Our natural minds are built on the goal of surviving, not living with others, so why am I the only one focusing on such ideals? On our natural order?
Wanting to ‘live’ while our minds are wired to simply survive is a sign of such greed I despise, of the sins of my people and my species. Even in this world there are such sins, but they understand this. They celebrate it. Their morality is plagued, but they accept this. They understand that purity is foreign to their kind, yet they go about enjoying life as if they are not despised by the glory of gods. Our people faked purity, and it ended in a purge of the divine. We attempted purity, and yet the gods hated it. Yet these mortals blatantly embrace their wrongs, and they are blessed by gods? Heathens, every single one of them, even the priests are beasts of sin.
But, alas, perhaps I am similar in mind to them? I understand that I am cruel, cruel since the beginning of my life, a sinister beast that roams the world in search of power. I am greedy indeed, but I have been rewarded. Its a paradox, that is if I imagine myself as an Uuphayen; As my father’s son. But I am not simply the prince of Uuth. I am me. A being built upon the wrongs of this world, the blackest of hate that the white light of this world cannot blend with. It's never gray in my mind. Contrasting evil and good, of the hero and villain. I am clearly villainous, and that I accept. That I embrace.
Even in that question’s end, another sprouts; Is this all worth it? Deep down, the childhood of my life still demands that I find a home I belong to, people of my like. Are the brainwashed and inept of this world truly where I belong? No. Not one bit. They remind me too much of my father, too much of my mother. But this temporary suffering of my ideal will be rewarded handsomely.
Rewriting this world, yes, that is my goal, but how does one accomplish this? A mean. An average of mortality. Purge the unsophisticated and uncharismatic, and infuse the others into my own being. I shall never be alone, but insanity would soon follow, yes? Perhaps instead I can use them to bring my own people back? No, they are not my own. I am an enigma, not a simple cephalopod. They would never accept me either, they don't understand the means to an end. They care for their lives, but deep down so do I. So how do I find my own people, purge the incompetent, and leave their lives intact?
Ah, yes, an idea. Create an instrumentality, infuse them into my being. Ascend. Use their beings, minds, bodies, souls, and extremities to build the perfect beings to accompany my reign. Create my own enigmas, but their minds will be intact. The veins of the well bless me, so why can't I control life like it controls mine?
I have the building blocks of life, the tools of creation, and the hateful destruction.
All I require in an instrument, and a mean.
