Timeline terminology:
AOTG = Age of the Gods, the time period wherein many gods ruled the land, adornments broken up between hundreds of mortals
KR = Kali's reign, the time period wherein Kali was the sole god
PA = Post Ascension, the time period wherein the 5 Horsemen Gods were adorned and ruled
RG = Rat Genocide, the time period wherein the rats were made extinct and the God of Chaos was imprisoned
PE = Post Extinction, the time period wherein Ratil is adorned (this is the contemporary time)
Premau = A slang term used out-of-universe to refer to the Age of the Gods
Religious title terminology:
Adornment = A magical, sentient, shape shifting object that when wielded can grant the holder with godhood
God = A person who has been adorned and holds the sole power of the Adornment
Vessel = An appointed temporary holder of an Adornment, possessing a portion of the power for the time being
Prophet = The second in command to a given God, the highest Apostle rank (excluding Vessel)
Priest = A high ranking Apostle to a given God, a rank below Prophet
Disciple = A low ranking Apostle to a given God, the lowest Apostle rank
Heretic = Someone who does not follow any of the major Religions (Chaos, Death, Famine, Pestilence, War, or Apocalypse). Can also be referred to subjectively to refer to anyone who doesn't subscribe to one's own religion
Apostle = A person who has been given power by a god but is not themself a god
Domain = Either the specific thing a God is the God of (i.e. Safari's domain is War) or the land that a God has claimed ownership over
Religious actions terminology:
Bless/ing/ed = An item that has been granted magical properties by a Divine
Sin-eating = A ritual wherein a person who has defeated a god will absolve the former god of any remaining power, thus taking sole ownership of the domain
Indoctrinate = To bring someone into one's own religion either by choice or force
Curse = A negative magical property bestowed upon someone by a Divine being
Usurp = To defeat a god (typically by killing them) and take control of their domain
Adorned = The act of bestowing an Adornment onto an individual
Descriptors terminology:
Successor God = A vessel being trained by a God as their future replacement
Infant God = A newly appointed God
True God = A God that has been a God for a long time and fully grown into their role
Fallen God = A God who was defeated- this can refer to both dead and alive individuals
Eldritch = A mutated form Divine individuals can take, often used to simply display power but are intended for use in fighting and defence
Divine = A person who holds magical properties
Mortal = A person who does not hold any magical properties
Familiar = The animal form an Adornment will take
Uuphayen = A person belonging to the alien race of Uuth
Mutant = An individual that has been tainted by magic as a mortal and has suffered physical and/or mental side effects. Typically seen in Chaos or Famine magic
Cleanser = A member of a religion sent to get rid of Heretics either by killing or conversion
Cult = A shorthand way of referring to a given Religion
Cultist = A followe of any given faith
Loctional terminology:
Sol Valley = The primary domain of the Chaos Cult
Amethyst Desert = The primary domain of the War Cult
Great Faefield Prairie = The primary domain of the Death Cult
Lepidop = The primary domain of the Famine Cult
Aegrotune = The primary domain of the Pestilence Cult
The Hub of Peace = A neutral grounds wherein the religions can meet, in the centre of the land
Twilight's Grave = Another name for the Amethyst Desert
Faefield = Another name for the Great Faefield Prairie
The Forest of Death = Another name for Lepidop
The Wayward Path = A protective fog barrier surrounding the Great Faefield Prairie
Capitol = The primary meeting spot of a Cult, located near the temple and typically where the God and their Apostles live
Temple = The centre of religion in a capitol city
Lesser Temple = A place of worship built outside of a capitol city
Heart of the Valley = The capital city of Sol Valley
The Oasis = The capitol city of the Amethyst Desert
No-name = The capitol city of the Great Faefield Prairie
No-name = The capitol city of Lepidop
No-name = The capitol city of Aegrotune
Beelzebub's Hive = Another name for the Heart of the Valley
